Dry Falls, Nantahala Forest, North Carolina
This is an original artwork by Kim Keelor of Carolina Artworks and is the first work in her Dry Falls, Nantahala Forest series. The series is inspired by a waterfall named Dry Falls that is only a few miles from Keelor's studio in Franklin, North Carolina. It isn't dry, but the name refers to the fact that visitors can walk on a pathway behind the robust waterfall and stay dry. It was created through the ancient process of wet felting with wool, silk and cotton. It hangs from an unseen structure in the back.
